Liberty Trike - How to Pack a Liberty Trike for Shipping
At Liberty Trike, we understand that buying a trike is a significant investment, and sometimes, despite best intentions, it may not work out. That's why we offer a 21 Day No Risk Policy. To facilitate a smooth return process, we've put together a detailed guide on how to pack up your Liberty Trike for shipping in case of a return.

In this post, we'll take you through the step-by-step process. We even have a video to help visualize the process.

Here's a brief checklist of the steps we'll be covering:

1. Ensure the battery is secured in its place within the trike.
2. Position the box on its side and place the trike's back end in, fitting the two rear wheels into the box's punch-outs.
3. Adjust the pedals to fit them inside the box.
4. Add the front wheel with the fender facing up.
5. Insert the handlebar and the seat with protective packaging on the seat post.
6. Place the bike stand behind the rear wheel and the charger on top of it.
7. Add the basket on top, filling up the remaining space in the box.
8. Use leftover packing material to fill spaces and prevent components from bouncing around.
9. Close and seal the box securely with strong tape.
10. Arrange a pick-up with the UPS for a return.

Now, let's unpack these steps and discuss each one in detail:

The first thing to do is to ensure that the battery is secured in its place within the trike. You'll want to lock it in place and make sure the tumbler is there. Don't worry about whether the battery is on or off; nothing will happen to it during the shipping. The primary aim is to keep it secure.

To start packing the trike, you'll need to position the shipping box on its side. The trike's back end goes in first, with the two rear wheels fitting into the long punch-outs in the box. This might be the hardest part of the packing process, especially if you're doing it alone. Once the largest part of the trike is in the box, it's time to adjust the pedals so they fit inside the box as well. The aim is to make sure this part is open because that's where the front wheel goes.

The front wheel is added next with the fender facing up. It is then followed by the handlebar. It would be best if you put something in between the handlebar and the front wheel to prevent any damage during the transport.

The seat is the next item to go in. It's a good idea to put a noodle or some protective packaging on the seat post to prevent it from banging around during shipping. Once the seat is in, you can throw in any additional packing material you have. The goal is to minimize bouncing around as much as possible.

The bike stand and charger are next. They're placed behind the rear wheel with the charger going on top of the stand. Lastly, the basket goes on top of everything else in the box.

Once everything is securely packed, close the box and seal it up with some strong packing tape. The next step is arranging a pick-up with UPS for a return, which is made easy thanks to our white glove service.

Remember, at Liberty Trike, our goal is to ensure that you have a positive experience, from the time you receive your trike to the unlikely event that you decide to return it. We hope you find this guide useful.
